15 drops DoTerra lavender essential oil 1/2 a cup of distilled water 1/4 of a cup of witch hazel Mix all the ingredients together in a spray bottle and use for fresh laundry smell on guests bedroom linen, on clothing before you iron them, or on linen before putting them away in the airing cupboard to store. Tip: If you prefer a more uplifting smell wild orange essential oil is a beautiful addition to this recipe or can replace the lavender if your not a fan of lavender. Either way this spray is a favourite of mine and sure to get compliments from guests when they stay.

All the flies around in the summer heat has me reaching for a DIY natural fly spray! Here’s what you need: 1/2 cup witch hazel.1/2 cup apple cider vinegar.30-50 drops of essential oils. Choose any combination of citronella, clove, lemongrass, rosemary, tea tree, eucalyptus, lavender and mint. I chose to use the following oils in mine and 10 drops of each: citronella, lavender, tea tree, and easy air (which has a blend of rosemary, clove, eucalyptus, lemon and peppermint). Within a few minutes of spraying it the the room had gone from heaps of flies buzzing around to only 2 that had landed and were sitting a bit stunned! SUCCESS!

Using hand sanitizer is pretty common place these days – often highly over used – but what other ingredients are in these products?  Did you know that most hand sanitisers contain an antibiotic compound called triclosan or triclocarban.
